About Me

Carlos Baldo is an Associate Professor of Management at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado. Since June 2022, he has been the same institution’s Academic Head of the Davis School of Business. His academic and professional credentials include experiences abroad. In 2015 he received his PhD in Management and Business Administration with Cum Laude distinction from Pablo de Olavide University, Seville Spain. In 2006, while working in the private sector he received an MBA degree with an International Business concentration from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. In 1998 he received a Licentiate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Universidad Fermin Toro Barquisimeto, Venezuela. Other academic credentials include a Diploma in International Business and Marketing from Universidad Complutense Madrid in Spain and is trained as Treasury Professional from Florida International University.

Before accepting his position at Colorado Mesa University, he taught at Southwest Oklahoma State University, Aquinas College in Michigan, Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Universidad Centro Occidental Lisandro Alvarado and Universidad Fermin Toro over the span of six years. He taught Organizational Behavior, Business Ethics, International Business, Emerging Markets, Research Design and Human Resources for graduate and undergraduate levels. His dissertation, titled “The Relation Client-Headhunter-Candidate from the Agency Theory Perspective”, he studied the interaction between executive search firms, client and candidates during the processes. Using third parties and implications for candidates, his research, that has been presented in various different countries include: Triadic relationships, executive recruitment, Agency Theory, and International Management.

He is a member of several organizations including but not limited to; Academy of Management, Academy of International Business, Society for Human Resource Management and the Southwest Academy of Management. He has an active research agenda, including papers under review and other(s) under development.
He has more than 14 years of experience in the private sector, holding positions such as Controller, Accounting Support for LATAM Region, among others.

Occasionally, in addition to his academic and research responsibilities, he provides consulting services in areas like changing business models, cross-cultural training, executive recruitment, succession planning, and internationalization strategy.
